NASA administrator says space shuttle was a mistake
The space shuttle and International Space Station — nearly the whole of the U.S. manned space program for the past three decades — were mistakes, NASA chief Michael Griffin said Tuesday.

For the past twenty or more years we have known a space program that only sent people into orbit. I think it would be awesome to be able to send people beyond that and actually establish our presence on the moon and Mars.
